Intro
Welcome to the brand new design & new content of Desirea.com - the personal homepage of Desirea. If you've visited before, you'll notice the entire look of the site has changed yet again, and I've added quite a bit more content. This site will always be a work in progress, but I'm very happy with it right now.
Ok, so the point of a personal homepage is to write about myself, so here we go. As you know my name is Desirea. I'm 27 years old and I live in North Wales, PA - just north of Philadelphia.
For college I went to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. I definitely had the time of my life at LSU. Despite all the fun I had, I graduated in 4 years with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Political Science. Basically that means I started as a Poli Sci major, but by the time I decided to change majors, I had enough credit for a minor.
I moved to the Northeast in August 2002, and since then I've led a bit of a boring life. For a while my life revolved around nothing but my work, but I am in the process of changing that. I guess you can say I am a recovering workaholic. I do online marketing, my specialty is Search Marketing. But I've recently expanded my skill set beyond search.
I live alone (own my own home), and LOVE it! I am a bit of a tech geek and I am a gadget junkie. I compulsively shop online. I like to tinker with making websites - check out the design gallery for some examples. I spend most of my free time listening to music, watching movies, shopping online, or reading books. I am a bit crafty and make my own jewelry sometimes (my creativity comes in waves).
My favorite thing in life is really good conversation. The kind that goes from one random topic to another, and next thing you know you have been talking for hours. I LOVE standup comedy, but am not into sketch comedy. I have a love/hate relationship with reality TV. I am obsessive about gourmet loose tea from The Steeping Pot & Starbucks coffee - Kenya Bold or Pike Place Blend made with a hand pour Melitta with lots of sugar and Soy Silk Creamer (you cant get this combo in the café). I also love going out for coffee with friends - Grande Soy Caramel Macchiato or a Vanilla Latte without froth. I'm overly picky about food, but love to go out for anything Asian (Thai, Japanese, Tibetan, Chinese, etc). I like other foods too, like Indian; I'm just on an Asian kick recently.
I’m entertained by all walks of life, so I love meeting new people - even though I tend to quietly analyze them on first meetings. Because of this, I seem shy - but I'm a Leo so I'm not that shy. But don't get me wrong, this doesn’t mean I’ll hangout with just anyone. My favorite people tend to be know-it-alls, but this is not to be confused with arrogant jerks – there is a difference. I also only like being around people I can talk about really good food with. Talking about food is almost as much fun as eating it.
I prefer to surround myself with people who are capable of taking care of themselves. I don’t like to go to bars, and I rarely drink (sometimes I go years between drinks). The older I get, the less I can stand being around drunk people. People I would tend to get along with most are NOT overly religious, political, or narrow minded. This doesn’t mean you can’t feel strongly about your religious or political views – you’re just not the type of person that has to shove them down people’s throats if they don’t agree with you.
Ok, so that's basically me in a nutshell. Oh, did I mention that I'm a bit random as well? If not, I'm sure you figured that out by now.
