The House

Oh my gosh, I bought a house!  I can't believe I technically became a homeowner at the age of 24 (I know I'm pushing it, but it was 7 days before I turned 25 so I can claim it).  It's been over a year now, and I still haven't done much with it.  So far I managed to take down most of the window coverings in the living room - difficult task with 17 1/2 ft ceilings.  Not sure if it looks worse with or without them.  Something definitely needs to go up there - just have to figure out what. The biggest task was buying furniture - it's so hard to make a decision when you know you're going to be stuck with it for years.

What cracks me up is that the virtual tour is still online from when the house was on the market.  Check it out to see how much I'm lacking in decorating skills compared to the previous owner.

So what have I learned so far about being a homeowner?  You stress about money constantly.  There are a million and one little projects that come up and just go on a list until you can afford to get them done.  Target has become an addiction.  Home Depot is my new best friend.  I'd rather die than go to Costco on a weekend.  Cleaning supplies are expensive - It's probably cheaper to just hire someone.   Everything looks much better when it's all in it's place - OMG I've become my mother!

So, here's what it looks like.  It's changing slowly but surely, so I'll keep adding updated pictures.   By the time it all comes together, it'll be time to move again :-).
